American Muslim Health Professionals

American Muslim Health Professionals (AMHP) is a national non-profit organization based in Rolling Meadows, IL, dedicated to advancing public health through the collaboration of Muslim healthcare professionals. The organization brings together physicians, mental health specialists, public health experts, and other healthcare professionals to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve health outcomes across diverse communities.

AMHP operates across three core programmatic areas: Health Policy and Advocacy, Professional Development, and Mental Health Services. Through its Health Policy and Advocacy initiatives, AMHP advocates for accessible, affordable, and equitable healthcare for all Americans, working to address systemic barriers in healthcare delivery. The Professional Development program encourages Muslim health professionals to leverage their unique skill sets to serve local communities and advance health equity, hosting numerous networking events in major cities that connect practitioners and foster collaboration.

The organization's Mental Health program focuses on enhancing individual and community-level capacity to identify mental health issues early, increase awareness about available resources, and reduce stigma around mental illness. AMHP offers both virtual and in-person Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) certifications, providing mental health literacy training to healthcare professionals and community members.
